The tracks that get worn away in flower beds and through grass - often wearing the flora down to bare earth - are called Desire Lines. They plot and record the routes that people - and in some cases, sheep - would rather take from A to B. Town planners and architects would often have us walk in graceful arabesques through their managed environment, but the population often has other ideas. |
