WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS

I am in the process of building up a portfolio of experience relating to art practice and teaching. I started off doing some voluntary work for the National Trust - part of the Big Draw Project on October 2005 - and at a local school. I have maintained my cointact with the school - Esthwaite in Hawkshead. They continued to be my 'laboratory rats' and underwent all sorts of half-baked ideas that I had. Some of the work is fantastic, and considering we usually had about 45mins, well made and enthusiatically produced.

Since moving away from Cumbria, I no longer work at Esthwaite School, obviously.

While in Cumbria I was employed by the Local Inset Network to do some teacher training. My first course - Kickstarting Creativity - was a great success. I also taught a session on Kickstarting the Digital Camera.

I have also been hired by the Pencil Museum in Keswick and for the Sure Start programme in Workington.

A large six week project at two schools in Bassetlaw - "It's Good To Be Me"
I spent a day at the Pencil Museum in Keswick and ran six workshops with 90 children.
A one-off session at Workington Library during May 2007. Based on Lowry's time there and his version of Jane Pit, Workington.
For six sessions in early 2007 I was the artist attached to the "Life Box" project in Workington. This was run by Cumbria Adult Education and consisted of helping fathers and their children create, well, click on the right and have a look.

I have been doing some Inset Training for local school teachers. The first course I ran was on "Kickstarting Creativity" and I will also be running "Creative Camera Work" course nearer the summer. These sessions have been co-ordinated by the Local Inset Network in Cumbria.

Most Wednesdays I contribute an art workshop to the Creativity Club at Esthwaite School, Hawkshead.
